“1000 Years of Persian Tales” ready for publication

“We are waiting for the other three books to get a license and then Karnameh Publications can proceed to publish the entire collection.

“While we are waiting for the license granting permission, a team will proofread the text, since books containing classic works should come out from the publisher totally devoid of mistakes,” he mentioned.

Qasemzadeh also remarked that he has been working on the project for 30 years, putting aside every interesting book he read for the collection, “It was in 2001 when I decided to begin to work on the stories and I’ve worked on the project now for 8 years.

The stories are selected from two genres, one based on the subject and the other on history. The first volume centers on women and stories related to them. The second volume contains fairy tales, the third tales of adventure and the fourth satire.

“Various sources were used and the stories were set in order considering the years of occurrence. At the end of each story, the source is briefly mentioned. Also added are explanations of meanings of unfamiliar words, phrases and proverbs,” he remarked.

He also explained that the stories written in the past enjoyed more consistency, adding, “I only edited the stories without making changes in them, and if I made any changes I put them in brackets.”

“Each volume bears 50 illustrations and the talented illustrators Bahram Davari and Hossein Karimzadeh have done the illustrations.

“The collection also contains stories from different nations, particularly our neighbors like India with which Iran has had cultural exchanges,” he concluded.
